No dia 3 de Dezembro de 2025, a Embaixada Real da Tailândia em Maputo organizou actividades para comemorar o aniversário de Sua Majestade, o Rei Bhumibol Adulyadej, o Grande, o Dia Nacional da Tailândia e o Dia dos Pais de 2025, nas instalações da Embaixada. Membros da comunidade tailandesa em Moçambique também participaram do evento.
O Sr. Yahya Wongkanya, Encarregado de Negócios a.i., proferiu o discurso de abertura, destacando a importância do dia 5 de Dezembro, as relações políticas e económicas, a cooperação para o desenvolvimento e as várias dimensões da parceria entre a Tailândia e Moçambique, incluindo o importante papel da comunidade tailandesa em Moçambique no fortalecimento das relações bilaterais. Convidou ainda aos participantes a observarem 93 segundos de silêncio em homenagem ao falecimento de Sua Majestade a Rainha Sirikit, a Rainha-Mãe, no dia 24 de Outubro de 2025.
Para comemorar a dedicação ao longo da vida de Sua Majestade, a Embaixada apresentou um documentário intitulado «Sua Majestade a Rainha Sirikit, a Rainha-Mãe e as Relações Internacionais», bem como um vídeo e materiais informativos sobre «O Traje Nacional Tailandês ou os Oito Estilos de Trajes Nacionais Tailandeses», iniciados e produzidos pelo Museu de Têxteis da Rainha Sirikit, permitindo aos participantes reflectir sobre as contribuições de Sua Majestade nos campos das relações internacionais, artes, cultura e outras dimensões.
O dia 5 de Dezembro tem um significado profundo para o povo tailandês, pois marca o aniversário de Sua Majestade o Rei Bhumibol Adulyadej, o Grande, o Dia Nacional da Tailândia e o Dia dos Pais da Tailândia. A ocasião proporcionou uma oportunidade significativa para a Embaixada Real da Tailândia e a comunidade tailandesa em Moçambique se reunirem em memória da nação e das instituições monárquicas, bem como para refletir sobre a importância da família. Serviu também como plataforma para celebrar a identidade tailandesa, a unidade e o vínculo duradouro entre os tailandeses residentes em Moçambique.

The Royal Thai Embassy in Maputo Organized Activities to Mark the Birthday Anniversary of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great, Thailand’s National Day and Father’s Day 2025
On 3 December 2025, the Royal Thai Embassy in Maputo organized activities to commemorate the Birthday Anniversary of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great, Thailand’s National Day, and Father’s Day 2025, at the Embassy premises. Members of the Thai community in Mozambique also participated in the event.
Mr. Yahya Wongkanya, Chargé d’Affaires a.i., delivered the opening remarks by highlighting the significance of 5 December, the political and economic relations, development cooperation, and various dimensions of the partnership between Thailand and Mozambique, including the important role of the Thai community in Mozambique in strengthening bilateral relations. He also invited the participants to observe 93 seconds of silence in tribute to the passing of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother on 24 October 2025.
To commemorate Her Majesty’s lifelong dedication, the Embassy presented a documentary “Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother and International Relations” as well as a video and informational materials on “Thai National Dress or the Eight Styles of Thai National Costumes” initiated and produced by the Queen Sirikit Museum of Textiles, allowing attendees to reflect on Her Majesty’s contributions in the fields of international affairs, arts, culture, and other dimensions.
5 December holds profound significance for the people of Thailand as it marks the Birthday Anniversary of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great, Thailand’s National Day, and Thailand’s Father’s Day. The occasion provided a meaningful opportunity for the Royal Thai Embassy and the Thai community in Mozambique to gather in remembrance of the Nation and the Monarchy Institutions, as well as reflect on the importance of family. It also served as a platform to celebrate Thai identity, unity, and the enduring bond among Thais residing in Mozambique.
