From 14 to 17 July 2026, Mr. Yahya Wongkanya, First Secretary and Head of Economic Affairs led a delegation comprising representatives of the Mozambique Halal Commission (MHC) and the Mozambican Muslim Association of Entrepreneurs and Business Owners (AMEEM) on a visit to Thailand. The visit aimed to study Thailand’s halal certification system and the application of science and technology in the development of the country’s halal industry.

The meeting aimed to promote cooperation in halal trade, investment, and industry between Thailand and Mozambique under the Thai Government's Thailand–Africa Initiative (TAI).
