The Royal Thai Embassy in Maputo Advances Thailand–Mozambique Cooperation in Halal Trade and Industry

On 14 July 2026, H.E. Mr. Bancha Yuenyongchongcharoen, Ambassador of Thailand to Mozambique, accompanied by Mr. Yahya Wongkanya, First Secretary of the Royal Thai Embassy in Maputo, led a delegation from the Mozambique Halal Commission (MHC) and representatives of the Mozambican Muslim Association of Entrepreneurs and Business Owners (AMEEM) to attend a working dinner with the Thailand–Mozambique Trade Association (TMTA), led by Ms. Pannpilai Baiyoke, Honorary Advisor to the Association. The meeting aimed to promote cooperation in halal trade, investment, and industry between Thailand and Mozambique under the Thai Government's Thailand–Africa Initiative (TAI).

The Royal Thai Embassy in Maputo is leading the participation of Thai government agencies and private sector companies at FACIM 2026, Mozambique’s most important trade and investment fair, taking place from 31 August to 5 September 2026. Thailand’s participation aims to showcase the country’s strengths and promote Thailand–Mozambique cooperation in sectors with strong potential.
H.E. Mr. Bancha Yuenyongchongcharoen, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand, welcomed H.E. Mr. Daniel Francisco Chapo, President of the Republic of Mozambique, and his delegation during their visit to the Thailand Pavilion. On this occasion, the Ambassador presented the progress of bilateral cooperation in trade, investment, energy, modern agriculture, and development cooperation.
