On 24 September 2026, H.E. Mr. Bancha Yuenyongchongcharoen, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to Mozambique, received and held discussions with Mr. Mazwi Mmango, Area General Manager – Mozambique of Minor Hotels, and Ms. Sheila Mabote, Sales and Marketing Manager, at the Royal Thai Embassy.

 

The discussions covered cooperation in tourism, trade, and investment between Thailand and Mozambique. Minor Hotels, a leading Thai hospitality group, currently operates three properties in Mozambique: (1) the Radisson Blu Hotel & Residence in Maputo; (2) the Anantara Bazaruto Island Resort in Inhambane Province; and (3) the Avani Pemba Beach Hotel in Pemba, Cabo Delgado Province — a presence that reflects the potential of the Thai private sector to play an active role in the Southeast African market.

 

The two sides also exchanged views on sustainable development cooperation in Mozambique, including marine resource conservation and the promotion of local value addition in partnership with communities, universities, and local entrepreneurs — areas in which Thailand has particular expertise and stands ready to share its experience.

 

The Royal Thai Embassy remains committed to supporting the expansion of cooperation between the Thai and Mozambican private sectors, for the mutual benefit of both countries.
