Ambassador of Thailand to the Republic of Mozambique Meets FAO Representative to Promote Agricultural and Fisheries Cooperation

On 10 September 2026, H.E. Mr. Bancha Yuenyongchongcharoen, Ambassador of Thailand to the Republic of Mozambique, met with Mr. José Luis Fernández Filgueiras, Representative of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) in Mozambique, to exchange views on the potential and challenges of Mozambique’s agricultural and fisheries sectors, as well as ways to strengthen cooperation among Thailand, Mozambique, and FAO.
 
Ambassador Bancha shared information on the Thailand–Mozambique Seafood Processing Incubator project in Vilankulo, Inhambane Province, which aims to transfer knowledge on seafood processing and preservation, while promoting the use of appropriate technologies to increase the value of products from local fishing communities.
 
Both sides also discussed opportunities to expand cooperation under the South–South Cooperation framework, particularly in aquaculture, seafood processing, rice production and processing, and agricultural machinery, as well as ways to promote greater participation of the Thai private sector in areas of mutual potential.
