On 11 February 2025, H.E. Mr. Soradjak Puranasamriddhi, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to Maputo, visited Gaza Province and paid a courtesy call on Mrs. Margarida Sebastião Mapandzene Chongo, Governor of Gaza, and Mr. Jaime Neto, Secretary of State of Gaza.
During the discussions, both sides exchanged views on enhancing Thailand-Mozambique cooperation, particularly in the economic and social sectors. They also explored opportunities for collaboration in agriculture and food security, which align with the Mozambican government’s policy of prioritizing the agricultural sector.
In the past, Thailand has supported Mozambique through the establishment of the Sufficiency Economy Learning Center (Community Learning Center - CLC) in Tuane District and the Tilapia Breeding Center in Praia do Bilene. Additionally, Thailand has provided short-term training scholarships in fields where it has expertise, such as agriculture and public health, contributing to capacity-building and sustainable development in Mozambique.
Furthermore, the Ambassador visited the Sufficiency Economy Learning Center (Community Learning Center - CLC) in Tuane District. The project aims to promote self-reliance and improve the quality of life for local communities.
This visit reflects the commitment of the people of Thailand to strengthening Thailand-Mozambique relations through development cooperation. In particular, Thailand continues to promote the Sufficiency Economy Philosophy, which has garnered significant interest from the Mozambican side.
