The Royal Thai Embassy in Maputo organized the Songkran or the Thai New Year Celebration 2024 at the Ambassador’s Residence. The event was attended by the Thai community as well as friends of Thailand in Mozambique. As “Songkran in Thailand, a traditional Thai New Year festival” was inscribed in 2023 on the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, the celebration was arranged to preserve this precious Thai culture and to promote unity among the Thai people in Mozambique.
