H.E. Mr. Soradjak Puranasamriddhi, Ambassador of Thailand to Mozambique and the Embassy’s staff visited The Community Learning Centre (CLC) and the Thailand-Mozambique Tilapia Breeding Centre located in Gaza Province. The Embassy took the opportunity to explore further cooperation with the centres in the future.

The Community Learning Centre (CLC) - is located next to the Primary School in Tuane, Gaza Province. It was part of the ‘Sustainable Community Development based on the Application of Sufficiency Economy Philosophy Project in Mozambique’ which Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA) conducted during 2017-2020. The project aimed to share Thailand's expertise in agriculture as well as the concept of Sufficiency Economy Philosophy with Mozambique, with the hope that they would contribute to the better livelihood of the people. During the cooperation period, numerous activities were conducted. For instance, several volunteers were sent to station in Tuane to share their agricultural and handicraft technique with the villagers. The center was officially handed over to the district of Bilene in June 2021.

The Thailand-Mozambique Tilapia Breeding Centre - is located in Praia do Bilene, Gaza Province. It was one of the main activities of the 'Sustainable Community Development based on the Application of Sufficiency Economy Philosophy Project in Mozambique' which conducted with the Royal Thai Embassy in Maputo during 2017-2020 with the aim of sharing Thailand's knowledge regarding aquaculture with the Mozambican counterparts. The main idea was to use the centre to serve as an example to other tilapia farms in the region as well as to distribute fingerlings to the locals interested in small scale fish farming. The centre was officially handed over to the owner of the area in June 2021.
