During 1-3 March 2022, Ms. Pinyada Reiniger, Charge d' Affaires a.i., together with the Embassy team visited Pemba, Cabo Delgado Province. In this occasion, Charge d' Affaires a.i. paid a courtesy call to Mr. Valige Tauabo, Governor of Cabo Delgado and Mr. Florete Simba Motarua, Mayor of Pemba to discuss about possibility of cooperation on trade and investment, development cooperation and the implementation of knowledge-sharing on tourism, service, food processing, etc. Both sides also discussed on Thailand’s assistance to support Cabo Delgado during COVID-19 pandemic and exchanged views on economic recovery, unrest situation in Cabo Delgado, as well as, assistance for Thai Community in Cabo Delgado.

Furthermore, Ms. Pinyada also met with Mr. Mazwi Mmango, General Manager of Anantara Medjumbe Island Resort and Avani Pemba Beach Hotel (under the Minor International PCL.) to assure the Embassy support for Thai business in Mozambique and exchange information on tourism and hospitality business, especially on investment opportunities and effects from COVID-19 and the unrest situation in Cado Delgado.
