On 15 September 2022, H.E. Mr. Sorajak Puranasamriddhi, Ambassador, and Mr. Aphirak Paepuang, Minister of Commercial Affairs, Pretoria, South Africa, met with the President of the Mozambique Economic Confederation to discuss strengthening trade and investment relations during the post-COVID-19 outbreak. In order to do so, both sides aim to increase business activities in areas that 2 countries focus on, such as agriculture, tourism, and gem processing. A business obstacle elimination was discussed, such as tax policies for foreign investments, and an agreement on the exemption of double taxation, in order to boost investments. In addition, both sides agreed that the visits of businessmen from both countries would be exchanged by the Thai side facilitates Mozambique businessmen to participate in trade fairs in Thailand and brings Thai businessmen to Mozambique. Moreover, both sides will start the negotiation process of the Memorandum of Understanding on trade and investment cooperation between Thailand and Mozambique.
