Royal Thai Embassy in Maputo Supports Thailand–Mozambique Trade and Investment Cooperation with Thai Private Sector

On 5 February 2026, representatives from the Africa Division of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand (Department of South Asian, Middle East and African Affairs), together with representatives from the Royal Thai Embassy in Maputo and Mr. Bancha Yuenyongchongcharoen, Deputy Director-General of the Department of Consular Affairs, held an informal discussion with Thai private-sector representatives interested in investing in Mozambique.

The discussion aimed to exchange views on trade and investment opportunities in Mozambique, as well as to discuss issues related to overseas voting and approaches to supporting and strengthening Thai communities abroad.

Participating companies included representatives from the Agricultural Machinery Cluster under the Federation of Thai Industries, Thai Union Group, and a company engaged in aquaculture (sea bass farming). The private sector expressed interest in participating in the 61st Maputo International Trade Fair (FACIM), scheduled to take place from 31 August to 6 September 2026, particularly to showcase Thailand’s agricultural machinery potential in the Mozambican and broader African markets.

The discussion formed part of ongoing efforts to advance Thailand–Mozambique cooperation under the Thailand–Africa Initiative (TAI).

Embaixada Real da Tailândia em Maputo promove cooperação comercial e de investimento Tailândia–Moçambique com o setor privado tailandês

No dia 5 de fevereiro de 2026, representantes da Divisão de África do Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand (Departamento de Assuntos do Sul da Ásia, Médio Oriente e África), juntamente com representantes da Embaixada Real da Tailândia em Maputo e o Sr. Bancha Yuenyongchongcharoen, Vice-Diretor-Geral do Departamento de Assuntos Consulares, realizaram uma reunião informal com representantes do setor privado tailandês interessados em investir em Moçambique.

O encontro teve como objetivo trocar opiniões sobre oportunidades de comércio e investimento em Moçambique, bem como discutir questões relacionadas com o voto no exterior e formas de apoiar e reforçar as comunidades tailandesas no estrangeiro.

O setor privado participante incluiu representantes do grupo de maquinaria agrícola sob a Federação das Indústrias Tailandesas, da Thai Union Group e de uma empresa do setor de aquacultura (criação de robalo). As empresas manifestaram interesse em participar na 61.ª Feira Internacional de Maputo (FACIM), prevista para decorrer de 31 de agosto a 6 de setembro de 2026, com vista a apresentar o potencial da maquinaria agrícola tailandesa no mercado moçambicano e na região africana em geral.

A reunião integra os esforços contínuos para reforçar a cooperação Tailândia–Moçambique no âmbito da Thailand–Africa Initiative (TAI).
