On 5 December 2022, the Royal Thai Embassy in Maputo hosted a reception on the occasion of the Birthday Anniversary of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great, the National Day of the Kingdom of Thailand, and Thailand Father’s day at the Radisson Blu Hotel Maputo. The event was attended by approximately 150 guests from the Mozambican public and private sectors, diplomatic corps, international organisations, foreign guests, and members of the Thai community.
On this occasion, Mr. Soradjak Puranasamriddhi, Ambassador of Thailand to Mozambique delivered his speech highlighting the importance of the 5th December to Thailand and paying tribute to His Majesty the Late King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great, especially the application of the Philosophy of Sufficiency Economy which was also applied to Thailand-Mozambique cooperation projects for sustainability. Meanwhile, Her Excellency Mrs. Eldevina Materula, Minister of Culture and Tourism as the Guest of Honour also delivered her speech highlighting on good relations between Thailand and Mozambique and express her will to promote cooperation in many areas to strengthen Thai-Mozambique relations in the future.
During the reception, the Embassy brought the touch of Thai to the guests to experience Thai culture via traditional Thai performances (Thai dance and Thai boxing show) together with authentic Thai food from the Thai Ambassador’s Residence, and 2 Thai Restaurants in Maputo which are Pekai’s Thai Pub and Restaurant and Spicy Thai Restaurant.
