On 4 December 2023, the Royal Thai Embassy in Maputo hosted a reception on the occasion of the Birthday Anniversary of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great, the National Day of the Kingdom of Thailand, and Thailand Father’s Day at Polana Serena Hotel. The event was attended by approximately 160 guests from the Mozambican public and private sectors, diplomatic corps, international organisations, foreign guests, and members of the Thai community.
On this occasion, Mr. Soradjak Puranasamriddhi, Ambassador of Thailand to Mozambique, conveyed a speech emphasizing the significance of December 5th for Thailand. He paid tribute to His Majesty the Late King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great while expressing Thailand's commitment to enhancing bilateral relations with Mozambique. This involves fostering cooperation in diverse areas, particularly in the realms of economic growth, investment, and sustainable development. Thailand is open to engaging in bilateral or trilateral cooperation with development partners to achieve these shared objectives.
Meanwhile, as the Guest of Honour, Her Excellency Mrs. Lídia de Fatima da Graça Cardoso, Minister of the Sea, Inland Waters, and Fisheries, highlighted the positive relations between Thailand and Mozambique. She emphasized Thailand's role in promoting trade and investment during the FACIM Trade Fair and expressed the Mozambican Government's commitment to strengthening Thai-Mozambique relations, particularly in politics and economics.
At the reception, the Embassy brought the touch of Thai to the guests to experience Thai culture through a Thai lotus dance, complemented by authentic Thai cuisine and Thai products available in Mozambique.
