On 18 July 2025, H.E. Mr. Soradjak Puranasamriddhi, Ambassador of Thailand to Mozambique, met with six Mozambican delegates who are set to attend the “Food Processing and Business Planning for Fish Hubs” training programme in Bangkok. This training forms part of the Thai–Mozambique Seafood Processing Incubator Project 2025.

The Incubator Project is an initiative of the Royal Thai Embassy in Maputo, building on the success of the previous Seafood Value Addition Project (implemented during 2022–2023). It is implemented as a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) involving the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand, Thailand’s National Food Institute (NFI), PTT Exploration and Production Public Company Limited (PTTEP), Mozambique’s Instituto para a Promoção das Pequenas e Médias Empresas (IPEME), and Escola Superior de Desenvolvimento Rural (ESUDER) of Mozambique. The project aims to support development cooperation, improve local livelihoods, and promote Thailand’s constructive role in Mozambique.

The six Mozambican delegates, nominated by their respective government agencies, will participate in the training in Thailand from 19 July to 3 August 2025. The programme focuses on seafood processing techniques, hygiene and quality standards, marketing strategies, and branding to add value to seafood products. It also includes site visits and hands-on practical sessions in seafood product processing. Upon completion of the training, the participants are expected to transfer their knowledge and skills to local communities in Mozambique, working closely with the Royal Thai Embassy in Maputo and relevant Mozambican government agencies to ensure sustainable impact.
